Drag-to-Resize Layouts
Page layout is a balance. One section needs more space; another can afford to be narrower. The right proportions depend on the content — and the content varies by object type, by workflow stage, and by team preference.
Fixed layouts impose a proportion that might be reasonable as a default but is rarely exactly right for every context. Drag-to-resize gives you control over those proportions directly on the canvas.
Grab and Adjust
In the visual builder, column dividers have drag handles. Grab a handle and drag left or right to adjust the ratio between the adjacent columns. The canvas updates as you drag, so you can see the effect in real time.
Release when the proportion looks right. The layout is saved with those proportions applied.
Proportional, Not Pixel-Level
Layouts resize proportionally, not by absolute pixel values. This means a layout configured in the builder looks correct across different screen sizes — if a column is 40% of the available width, it remains 40% regardless of whether the viewport is wide or narrow.
This approach keeps layouts responsive without requiring any manual configuration of breakpoints or responsive rules.
Combine With Component Settings
Column widths are one dimension of layout control. Within each column, component settings let you control padding, alignment, and spacing. The combination of column proportions and component settings gives enough control to produce professional, purposeful layouts without any design background required.
Refine After Seeing Real Data
The best time to adjust layout proportions is after you've seen real data in the components. A field list that seemed appropriately wide might look cramped with actual content. A sidebar that seemed generous might be wasteful for the amount of information it displays.
With drag-to-resize, refinement is a two-second operation rather than a configuration edit. See it, adjust it, done.
The resize interaction is available whenever the builder is in edit mode. Layouts can be adjusted at any time — a first configuration is a starting point, not a commitment.
